Roof Ventilation

Ventilation

CertainTeed Ridge Vents install on the peak of the roof, allowing exhaust ventilation all along the roof line.

Proper ventilation is critical to maximizing the life of a roofing system. Whenever a roof lacks adequate ventilation, hot air and moisture become trapped in a home’s attic space. This problem not only results in higher electric bills during summer months to keep the house cool, it also results in mold growth, the degrading of structural components, and the deterioration of a roof’s decking, underlayment, and shingles. No one wants to see that happen to your home.

So part of our inspection process includes assessing the existing ventilation and calculating the vent area to determine whether the existing intake and exhaust capacity meets the ventilation requirements. If it is determined that additional intake or exhaust is needed, we offer a range of equipment options, including ridge vents, box vents, soffit vents, and smart vents.
